What a fantastic time we have just had shore fishing in The Gambia !
It is rare these days to say that you have had the pleasure of meeting a True Gentleman but in Bernard we surely did, A very professional set up with all the knowledge that his years of fishing brings , nothing was to much trouble from knot tying to finding the fish ,Our day was capped off by Chris catching the fish of a lifetime a “VERY” large Guitar Fish that he has not stopped showing the pictures of to anyone who cared to look.

A big! big!! thank you to Bernard for three fantastic days on the beautiful beaches of The Gambia. This was not our first time beach fishing here but going with Bernard & his crew nothing was too much trouble & extremely professional compared to others we have been with . we all caught plenty with the biggest being a 34lb guitar fish!!

Great Day Thank You we loved it – were not experienced at fishing even fishing from the beach but Bernard was so patient and explaned what to do, picked us up and brought all the equpiment and a sandwich – put the bait on cast the rod all we had to do was catch the fish – butterfish / ladyfish / guitarfish / catfish brilliant and we even took some home for tea. This is a great experience even for the inexperienced like us and a quality day for the practised fisherman. Also Mike and Barbara who were with us helped make it a day to remember – you must do it if only once in your life but we will be back !

We had a fantastic day fishing with fishthegambia
2nd week February 2015
Bernard collected us from our hotel 9.30. Took us to a remote beach nice bit of off road driving included. I was the complete novis and ended up catching more fish than my friend mark who was experienced.
drinks sandwiches also included, we caught
Catfish!,Cassava, white snapper, Bernard landed a belter
Got back to the hotel around 5.00 the chef cooked our fish.
learnt a lot, would highly recommend fishthegambia with bernards pleasant manner and wealth of knowledge
We found the day really enjoyable and Good value all round..

Just another thank you to Bernard for some great days fishing and in particular in the way he assisted in the organisation of the 2nd Gambian International Boat Fishing competition. Well done Bernard!!

Many thanks for making our holiday in the Gambia such a memorable experience. The days we spent fishing with you were the highlight of our three weeks in the Gambia. Nothing was too much trouble to organise, equipment provided was of a very good standard and your local knowledge helped us catch when others we spoke to were struggling. Hopefully next year we will land the big ones rather than teasing them and taking such a conservation minded approach! For Sonja and Zoe who would never fish outside the Gambia, the locations were stunning providing a chance to enjoy the scenery, a relaxing day on the beach with some fine sandwiches and great company whilst managing to consistently catch larger fish than me! My turn next year hopefully.

Thank you to Bernard for a great day fishing. I was very well looked after , it was a pleasure to spend the day fishing with him. Even though conditions were difficult on the beach near Karting , Bernard got us in the catfish with a couple of guitar fish thrown in. I would highflying recommend a day with Bernard .

I have been out fishing the beaches with Bernard for about 5 years now every time I come to The Gambia, he is very experienced knowledgeable and professional, I`m a novice but Bernard puts you at ease and helps with everything on your day out. I even took my other half Wendy she didn`t fish but had a great time wondering and sunbathing on the deserted beaches. Nothing is to much trouble for Bernard a real gent well worth a day or two out and about with him, best wishes mate Daryll

An excellent days fishing in the creeks. Well organised by Bernard. May not have had a massive catch but I certainly enjoyed myself. Thoroughly reccommended.

Sorry for the late review Bernard, WELL it wasn’t what i expected fished for three days in middle Feb 2022 with Bernard. He made me very welcome and his knowledge of fishing the Gambia showed and I learnt through his experience and knowledge, Which I’m am now already preparing and looking forward to my next visit to the Gambia ,see you soon paul
